What to expect from a professional mold remediation company?
A few thing that a professional company should do.
- Mold professionals seal off the work area, building a negative air pressure containment.
- After mold is removed from its source, the air should be cleaned of airborne mold spores using HEPA air scrubbers and air exchange. We highly recommend to follow up with a low volume fogging service with antimicrobial.
- When vacuuming and using air scrubbers for mold remediation, the filters used should be HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air). Only HEPA filters are designed to capture particles as small as mold spores. Regular filters will not work and could make the problem worse. Make sure the equipment they are bringing to your property is clean and in good condition, filters should look clean.
- Mold professionals usually discard moldy, porous building materials such as drywall, insulation, and baseboards. These materials are relatively inexpensive to replace and difficult to impossible to restore to their previous uncontaminated condition. All the removed material should be based and seal inside the containment area.
- Antimicrobial chemicals will be used to clean any remaining mold and mold stains after demolition
- After a material is clean they should be seal with a mold primer paint to cover the material from any mold coming back.

Because their lungs are still developing, children are at an even greater risk for health problems associated with exposure to black mold.
